If I apply this theory with the fact that so many of my friends were virgins for more than a decade after they completed their high school… u have any idea what result I will get?
their IQ would be exceeding 300-400.. ( i wonder if it is possible, but the research paper says so.)
Till last year, I used to think this was the reason. but what do u think is the reason?

Read the original article…quite interesting indeed. Perhaps people at MIT/Wellesley don’t have time for anything except for their books. Many of them look very nerdy and dorky too 😛 Plus, many of them are so boring….who would want to date them?
perhaps another nerd/dork
quite correct…didn’t think about that. Btw, I feel that the whole issue is blown out of proportion in India and virginity is not that big an issue as it used to be. And you would think that your friends are virgins, but they might not be!

ya… most guys would prefer if their wife maintained her virtue till the first day.
//and virginity is not that big an issue as it used to be.//
quite true.. orthodox people call it loosing of moral standards.
// And you would think that your friends are virgins, but they might not be!//
most of my friends r guys…. they will make a whole story out of something as casual as a smile
Sheer double standardness.
I have noticed that symptom in Indian guys too. No wonder they remain virgins! Haha

nobody dies a virgin… life screws us all 🙁
I think there is more to sex then just sex. Its also an emotional attachment. Nobody would like to have a partner who is/was emotionally attached to somebody else. So, better to stay a virgin till marriage, I would say. If somebody thinks on the same lines, that should explain your question.

agreed… but being married does not necessarily man that u r emotionally attached.. right?
btw all i am trying to say is that PHD level thesis which i recently found gives some very interesting results when applied to indians.
Actually I don’t think that many Indians are virgins. It is my firm belief that everything happens behind closed doors.
@nita…
I agree times are changing and it would not be right to generalize virginity. and the mystery it encourages a lot of curious folks to experiment.
However unlike many developed countries pre-marital sex in India is still a taboo and that is what is stopping a lot of teens to delay it till they r very sure about their partners.
